The Challenge:

Oppo Brothers Ice Cream not only tastes fantastic but has half the calories and sugar of traditional ice cream. Tasting is believing so product sampling to consumers is the perfect marketing tool.

Our Solution:

Waitrose was their key customer so we focussed a sampling programme in their top 80 stores. Highjam booked the stores, designed and produced the kit and managed the logistics.

Our sampling team were hand-selected and trained. The instore brand ambassadors engaged with consumers as they entered the store, offered samples and communicated product benefits to consumers.

An instore kit was designed to capture attention, provide stand out against the competitors and maximise instore branding opportunities.

Over a 6 week period our core team of Brand Ambassadors delivered over 25k consumers interactions and brand messages on behalf of Oppo Brothers Ice Cream.

Staff provided feedback each day with a full sales report. Feedback from consumers were overwhelmingly positive with a high conversion-to-purchase.

Key Stats:

  • Over 25,000 samples were delivered to consumers in 80 Waitrose stores.
  • Sales uplifts were on average 500% +
  • Following the success of the UK activation the campaign was extended to other European Markets using our sister agencies within the International Shopper Marketing Group (ISMG)
